There are only so many ways you can tell a boy meets girl story. Thankfully, we have Le S
witch. A timely new rom-com play making its world premiere at the Jungle Theater. Le Switch is the boy meets boy romantic comedy for our time.
Set in 2011 and 2014 when marriage equality made leaps in bounds across the country and was officially acted on by the Supreme Court, Le Switch follows David (Kasey Mahaffy) as he navigates life post break up with a “perfect” guy who was all about getting married. Now, that is best friend Zachary (Michael Wieser) is getting married he’s feeling the pressure to find someone new. While attending a bachelor party in Montreal, David meets yet another “perfect” guy, in the younger Benoit (Michael Hanna).
Le Switch is a smart, funny, fresh and captivating night of theatre. Playwright Philip Dawkins has beautifully developed these characters to give them dimension. The script was developed at The Playwrights’ Center in 2014 as part of their Playwrights Center’s PlayLabs and his directed by its Artistic Director Jeremy Cohen, who is making his Jungle Theatre debut.
